The WPPMERCS are trying to decide which days to come out and play some REC ball to get the season started and meet all the new players.
Vote on the poll for what day or days you might be interested in playing.
Although we would all like to play every day they are open please only select the days you think you could come out and play.

I did not even ask if the fields were open on Sundays yet.  So maybe Sundays would be out for now anyways, I'm not sure.

Just an FYI - the fields are now open on Sundays for regular play - for the rest of the season

Saturday!  Supposed to rain Sunday I think...

I just installed a new bolt, a Tech-T two-piece thing and can't wait to try it out.  Hopefully I'll get even BETTER air efficiency.  I have a feeling it's going to be louder than the factory bolt though...

Smart Parts  Temporary Closure

Smart Parts Inc., undergoes temporary closure for restructuring during the month of January 2010.

Loyalhanna, PA – January 6, 2009 – Paintball manufacturer Smart Parts, Inc. is temporarily shutting down all manufacturing and sale operations in order to facilitate a corporate restructuring. During this time, the company will not be able accept or process orders, ship or receive products or perform repairs. The restructuring process is expected to be completed by the end of January 2010.

“It is important that people do not send equipment in for service during this time,” said company Vice President, Adam Gardner. “Our buildings will not be staffed during the restructuring, so there will be no one there to receive packages. They will automatically be refused and returned to the sender.

“To the players, field owners and store owners, please know that we appreciate your support and are looking forward to a fresh start for the 2010 paintball season. We apologize for any inconvenience this short closure may cause, and hope to make it up to you in the future.”

Smart Parts, Inc., is a leading developer and manufacturer of equipment and accessories for the sport of paintball.




No other press releases have been made, I don't feel they are gonna go out of business (although I'm hoping), they still have their website up and running.

You're hoping they go out of business?  May I ask why? 

I know there are some Smart Parts haters out there, and there are a lot of reasons I don't understand.

I don't really like the idea of the patents they own and thereby receive a chunk of every electropneumatic marker sold in the US.  I certainly understand someone that feels that way because it drives up the cost of manufacturing the markers, driving up the price we pay for the markers.

I wonder how much SP gets per marker?

I read most of it and even though it's hard to glean any real information out of such a sloppy discussion I have to say that if the allegations against SP are true they should be fined as well. 

Just because it's LEGAL to do something doesn't mean it's RIGHT. 

Just because you can get away with something doesn't mean you should do it.
