To answer some of the questions a little more-
People are going to show up and get split into 3 teams? Yes. Three teams will rotate through a defender team and two attacker teams over several sets of games.
Each team, Red, White, and Blue, will take turns to defend a set postion, like the Alamo, during a set. The defending team will enter the field and have 5 minutes to prepare a defensive position. The other two teams, the Attackers will then enter the field from two different start points and then converge on the target. Each attacking team retains it's identity and attacks as a unit. The game last for 10 minutes or ends if all defenders are eliminated before 10 minutes.
For Example- using the Alamo, the Red team defends. The Blue team attacks from the Hoochyman field and the White team attacks from Legoland. If all Red defenders are eliminated before 10 minute time expires, the game is over and the attackers, White and Blue teams each get 10 points. If the defending Red team has at least 1 player still alive at the end of 10 minutes, the Red team wins and gets 20 points. It is very important for the attacking teams to do a very thorough sweep of the field and make sure they eliminate all defenders as their mission is to do just that. If one gets away, they didn't complete the mission.
The roles then switch with the Red team attacking from Legoland, the White team attacking from Hoochyman, and the Blue team defending the Alamo. This game will also last 10 minutes with the same point system as before. The roles switch again for the last game with the White team defending, the Red and Blue attacking.
The first set of three games is played in rapid succession, with no instant recycling, only limited medic rules for the defending team.
The next set uses another section of the field.
If we are lucky, we can get 3 or 4 sets played for the day for a total of 9 or 12 games.
At the end, points are totalled and a winner declared.
What are they defending? Set 1- 3 games defend the Alamo
Set 2- 3 games defend the Castle
Set 3- 3 games defend the Upper wall of Legoland
Set 4- 3 games defend the Lower wall of Legoland
Time for games? Each game- 10 minutes.
Each set of 3 games- 10 minutes each, 10 minute reset- 1 hour total.
The games are to be played with each set of 3 games played rapidly, no off field breaks between games, breaks are between sets.
The reset time between games allows each attacking team to go to its next start position and the defending team to prepare its defensive position.
Reinsertions? None for the Attacking teams. Out is out. Defenders- 25% Medic re-insertion during first 5 minutes. The defenders will get several medic flags to distribute to 25% of their players. When eliminated, a defending player with a medic flag can go to a ref and be re-inserted once by the ref during the first 5 minutes of the game.
Props? Maps and Medic flags for defenders.
This series allows each team the same amount of attacking and defending. Teams that defend well against 2 to 1 odds will win. Teams that get hit hard during defense will have the chance to hit back when they attack the team that rolled them up easily. Teams that keep themselves organized and ready to enter the field when called will have an advantage. Players not ready when the next game in a set begins will sit out until the next game. Teamwork of a Fireteam will pay off and the best team will win on points over all the attack and defend operations.
Players in a team that show up to play can operate as squads within the Fireteams. A large team can certainly operate as an entire Fireteam and have members run as squads if they so choose.
If 30 players attend, the games can be played with 10 members per Fireteam, set in two 5 man squad each.
If 60 players attend, you will have 3 groups of 20, with 2 ten man squads
90 players- 30 per Fireteam, 3 10 man squads per Fireteam.
It's all about teamwork.
I hope this explains it a little more. I don't want to tell everything though, I like to add a twist or two on the game day.
