I think we've grown to sufficient size to consider throwing ourselves a little party.  What I have in mind is all of us getting together at Wannaplay on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon fall 2011 and eating some good food, playing a little paintball, and getting to know each other better.  Bring your families, bring some food, and bring your appetites, know what I mean?  Nothing grand, nothing expensive, basically a large picnic plus paintball.

If we have sufficient interest and can meet Wannaplay's large group size requirement (25 players) I'll talk to Sheldon about providing us our own ref for the day.  Then we can play paintball the way we want (within reason of course) and don't have to worry about getting shot in the back by walk-ons. *jabs Bob*

I'm thinking September or October, after everyone's summer vacations are out of the way.  If you have another suggestion please make it known.  If you have something altogether different in mind post that here as well.  We have plenty of time to think about it so there's no rush.

Looks like we have plenty of interest here, lets move forward to the next preparation stage, which I call "Preparation H".



"Preparation H" is a two-part stage in which we get a better understanding of the number of players we will have present (as well as the number of non-player attendees) and pick a general time-frame for the event.

For example: I'll be attending and playing, however my wife will be attending and not playing.  This means we need 1 field fee and food for two:

1 Player
2 Meals

Please give lots of options for one day, either Saturday/Sunday, in September/October that will work for you.  For example:

September: 3, 4, 10, 11, 18, 24
October: 1, 2, 8, 22, 23

Whichever date has the most common number of attendees available will be the date we play.

I'm planning to grill chicken and hot dogs, please plan to bring something to contribute, which can be worked out later on.

Everyone is welcome, friends, family, coworkers you've always wanted to shoot at...  This is an excellent opportunity to introduce someone new to paintball.

For me and mine, I'm going to say:

3 Meals (Zach, Tom, Maria)

Dates I CAN make it:
September 4,10,11,25
October 2,8,9,15,16,22,23,29,30

I'll try to bring along some others, maybe some co-workers. I can provide whatever is needed food-wise, got lots of time and enough money to make it work. I can even offer an alternate location (minus paintball) if we need to in case of weather or something.

As of dates: that is during marching band season for my sister so I need to see when she has a free weekend from one of those dates.

Nine players and twenty two meals.  I believe we need at least fifteen players to qualify as a group @ Wannaplay.  I'll send an email in an effort to drum up interest.

I suppose we don't have to be a "group" though, any time is a good time to have a picnick. (did I spell picnick correctly?)

Maybe if we can get at least 10 Sheldon will make an exception on the group size and give us a dedicated ref - it's worth asking anyway.  I mean we do have close ties to the field.  And we would of course feed Sheldon AND the ref as a way of saying thank you for bending the rules a little.

I definitely will be at the banquet. I will be bringing a covered dish as well but am not sure what yet.
