It really depends what you're looking to get out of it.  Looking for a tournament marker or a mil-sim for scenarios?  Electronic or mechanical?

The BEST marker I have purchased in that price range  (I say best for for me, everyone has different opinions) was my Invert MINI.  If you like low-maintenance and high-performance, I would definitely take a look at this marker.  Pair it with a good barrel system and a modest hopper and it's very sweet for the price.

Hold it in your hands though before you make a decision, the size is something you will either love or hate.

I tell you what - I LOVE this marker.  I actually bought a PMR when I made my last move and I hated it so much (not a horrible marker, but it felt like a scaled down DM7, really hacked together -  it had more o-rings than I could count...) but the mini - it feels engineered from the ground up to be a good marker at 300-400 dollars.

I traded that PMR to Sheldon for a deal on a MINI and I have never looked back.

I tell you what there's NOTHING like mini-maintenance... This is what I do before I play:

1. loosen the retaining screw for the bolt
2. pull out the bolt
3. Clean the bolt
4. Re-lube the 6 o-rings on the bolt
5. Reinsert  the bolt
6. Tighten the retaining screw.

That's IT - maintenance takes like 5 minutes if you know what you are doing.  Can you tell I love this marker? Smiley

Anyway, on the barrel.  It has Auto-cocker threads but as I understand it, the threads can be a little finicky (never seen that myself, but I've read it).  I imagine it's just a matter of getting the right freak back.   One of my team-mates runs his mini with a freak system and loves it.

oh and nate b thanks for the suggestions but i dont really want to buy used and i played with the miniun before and didnt like it too much

I can't really speak to exactly what deal you might be able to get from Sheldon, your best bet is to take your PMR in to the pro shop so he can take a look at it and then see what he has to say.

Hopper-wise on the mini, I'd recommend a Velocity Jr.  It's a BIZARRE looking hopper on it's own, but on the mini it looks custom made for the gun and the balance is absolutely perfect.

But I really can't stress this enough...  HOLD A MINI IN YOUR HANDS before you make any call, the size really IS something you will love or hate - right away.

You're quite welcome - happy to help.

BTW - if you find that you are out-shooting the Velocity Jr, I'd recommend the Empire Reloader B.  A bit faster and still very good balance on the marker  (also looks very good on the mini).

You shouldnt get a mini. Multiple of my friends have had serious problems with them but you should talk to that guy about his shocker for sale. $350 dollars is a good price for his shocker and they last alot longer with low matience. You takre out the back bolt and then the bolt system. Boom its clean easily and then you screw it back into the body and you can continue to play with it. with a mini on the other hand... Uhh how do you like to get bunkered or surrendered? shockers usally cost around 500 bucks for a regular NXT stock thats brand new. A used NXT with possible upgrades for $350 dollars is a gooooood deal my friend.I got lucky by getting a NXT Tremor for $300 dollars  that works great but yours may be upgraded so take advantage of it and get that gun before someone else does!!!!

that shocker sounds nice and that is a good deal. I own a mini and love it. no problems. I know the first gen launch had some problems but i've heard nothing since. That shocker is a similar price and a slightly higher end marker but the mini trigger is one of the best stock set ups out there.

Minis arnt that great stock. Undecided I have shot my friends stock and I gotta say I am not impressed...A Dangerous Power G3 shot better then it and with that gun once you chop your doneskee. If you want a gun that will last longer then a cockroach I say the new NXT shocker would be a good addition to your arsenal. But the guy said hes willing to spend up to 550? Then he should go onto www.paintballwholesalers.com and check out their forum. On their forums they have people who sell shockers, dms, and recently hey have a SL66 ego f/s for 550 bucks. Now THAT is a good deal.

+1 for the Mini.

I have owned the Mini for 2 seasons now and can't get over how much I like this marker. It is simple and easy to use. I do suggest a barrel kit for better accuracy. I have a J&J Elite kit and it works well. The problem with the higher end markers is they sometimes over complicate maintenance and use. It will come down to what your personal needs are. If you need something simple you just pickup and go then I suggest the Mini but if you like to tinker a little then go for a higher end marker.

Good luck with what ever marker you choose.
